The project was led by Burnley College and involved Blackburn College, Lancaster and Morecambe College, Myerscough College and Preston College, supported by The Lancashire Colleges’ team.
Through the project we established four Professional Development Networks (PDNs) bringing together teaching staff from across the colleges to work together to develop their Level 4/5 subject and pedagogic content knowledge helping to improve the quality of technical and professional curriculum design, teaching, learning and assessment.
Our PDNs covered four sectors – construction (with a focus on digital tech), health, energy/low carbon, ecology/land-based. The PDNs designed and undertook Training Needs Analyses to ascertain where members wanted to focus their CPD, they engaged industry specialists and other external speakers to deliver Masterclasses on key topics, developed Employer Skills Taxonomies for students and utilised Action Learning Sets to further develop skills and understanding.
A range of videos and other resources are provided here.
NB – these resources are made available under the terms of the OGL Open Government Licence.
