Designed to give installers the skills and knowledge required to correctly install heat pumps. This course has been designed with the intention of meeting the requirement of the National Occupational Standards and industry working groups. Assessments normally consist of a combination of practical and theory examinations.

Awareness & Installation of Air Source Heat Pumps

The course gives and overview of installation and specification requirements for heat pumps, and also offers students an awareness of low carbon initiatives to take back to the workplace.

Heat Pump Technology Air Source
Level 3 Award | 3 weeks, full-time
This programme is designed to give installers the skills and knowledge necessary to install air source heat pumps correctly and work to a nationally recognised standard.

Installation & Maintenance of Heat Pumps (Non-Refrigerant)
Level 3 BPEC Award | 4 days, part-time
You need a minimum of NVQ L 2/3 qualification in plumbing or conventional heating engineering, of relevant experience plus Water Regulations/Byelaws and Energy Efficiency certificates to undertake this 4-day course. You will learn how to install, commission and handover heat pumps and non-refrigerant circuits, the requirements to inspect, service and maintain heat pump system installations non-refrigerant circuits This is a nationally recognised qualification and knowledge and performance are assessed. It is recognised as a demonstration of competence for the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS).
