Future U

Project overview

Future U is part of the Office for Students’ Uni Connect Programme, which supports students from communities that traditionally have lower than expected rates of participation in Higher Education (HE), to progress onto one of the many different types of HE available. Find out more about Future U here: https://lancashirefutureu.org.uk/

Through Future U students can access a range of impartial workshops covering Employability Skills, HE progression routes such as Higher Technical Qualifications, Degree Apprenticeships and Degrees, as well as sessions on Student Finance, Higher Education Study Skills and Student Life.

We are also working with the Lancashire and Cumbria Institute of Technology to offer a series of ‘IoT Days’. This initiative allows college students to visit IoT sites to see their facilities and meet tutors and students, hear more about the HE options available through the IoT and from employers about pathways into different jobs. Find out more about the IoT here: https://landciot.ac.uk/

The overall aim of Future U is to minimise the barriers that students from underrepresented groups face in making informed decisions on their progression after college. If you would like to find out more about the programme or book any of the Future U sessions for your students please contact info@tlc.ac.uk.
